Today I wanted to do a book tag and I thought what better one is there to do to wrap-up my end of year posts?
This tag was originally created by Bookmark Chronicles.
1. Best book/series that you read in 2018
I absolutely loved Sawkill Girls by Claire Legrand so I would probably say that it was my favourite of the year but it’s so hard to decide!
You can check out my top ten favourite books of the year here.
2. Authors that you’ve recently found and would like to read more of in the new year.
Christina Henry is one of those authors that I own all of her books but I have only read one of them. I read Lost Boy last year and it quickly became one of my new favourites so I definitely want to read the rest of her works.
I also read Daughter of the Burning City by Amanda Foody last year and loved it. Her writing style clicked with me and so I definitely want to read more from her this year.
3. Most anticipated book turned movie?
I don’t actually know of any book to movie adaptations that are coming out this year. Is the To All the Boys sequel coming out this year or do I have to wait even longer for that one?
4. Name a character hat you wouldn’t mind sharing a kiss with at midnight.
Oh my god there’s so many. Finch from The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert is one of them as is Luca from Daughter of the Burning City by Amanda Foody. I love these two boys so much which is surprising since I don’t normally like the main love interest.
5. What’s on your TBR for 2019?
Urgh, so many. I’m going to stick to the top five books that I own however.
Queen of Air and Darkness by Cassandra Clare. I have already started this book after finishing Lord of Shadows last month but knowing me it will take me a while to get through it but I must finish it before any of her other books are released!
Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo. I need to finish the Grisha trilogy ASAP so I can read Six of Crows and then King of Scars when it is released.
Even the Darkest Stars by Heather Fawcett. This is one I need to read this winter as I think it is one that will be a five star rating. Also the sequel comes out this year.
Beyond a Darkened Shore by Jessica Leake. Another fantasy book that I have high expectations for and the sequel comes out this year.
What if it’s us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera. Finally a contemporary! Which is ironic since this year I want to read more contemporary. I own and really need to read all of Adam’s books but I think I might start with this one since I have read from Becky before.
6. How many books do you hope to read in 2019?
My goodreads goal is 75 so fingers crossed that happens. I read just over 50 this year so I might be pushing it a bit.
7. Will you participate in the Goodreads Reading Challenge?
Of course, I don’t work well unless I have something holding my accountable.
8. Any New Year’s Resolutions? (Bookish and otherwise)
My bookish resolutions are just to read more, enjoy what I read and to stay up to date on my bookish social media. I really want to work on this blog and my YouTube channel.
For everyday resolutions, 2018 was the year of learning to love others but I want 2019 to be the year where I learn to love myself.
I tag anyone that wants to do this tag but make sure you leave a comment if you do do it so I can check it out!
